Indonesia passport photo

There is no Indonesian passport photo to prepare: the Kantor Imigrasi takes it after the document check and interview. The M-Paspor app only handles registration, payment and document scans. Prepare for the capture instead.

Nothing to crop for an Indonesian passport

Imigrasi publishes no print size because none is needed; the 4 × 6 cm photos found online are for other Indonesian documents such as the SKCK or diplomas. The photo is captured on site on a white background.

What to wear for the capture

Avoid white or very light clothing because the background is white, and wear a neat collared shirt rather than a casual T-shirt. Long hair goes behind the ears and shoulders; the forehead and eyes must not be covered.

Glasses, lenses and head coverings

No glasses, hats, masks or face-covering accessories are allowed during the capture; coloured and even natural-coloured soft lenses are refused because they change the eye profile. A hijab is allowed as long as it does not cover the forehead, eyebrows and chin.

Using the M-Paspor app

The app registers your application, takes the payment and uploads document scans, but it does not take or accept the passport photo. Bring your documents to the appointment and the officer photographs you after the interview.

How to take a valid photo

The authority takes the photo, so this list is about arriving ready for the capture.

  • No glasses, hats, masks or face-covering accessories; soft lenses, even natural-coloured ones, are refused because they change the eye profile.
  • A hijab is allowed as long as it does not cover the forehead, eyebrows and chin.
  • Avoid white or very light clothing against the white background; wear a neat collared shirt, not a casual T-shirt.
  • Long hair goes behind the ears and shoulders; forehead and eyes must not be covered.
