Find the videos eating your storage
If your iPhone storage is full, videos are almost always the reason. Videos mode shows only your clips and screen recordings, longest first, and lets you watch each one before you decide.
Why videos fill up your iPhone
A photo usually takes a few megabytes. A minute of video at the default 1080p setting takes about 60, and 4K or high frame rate clips take several times more. Most people have a handful of long videos they recorded once and never watched again: concerts filmed from the back row, a screen recording left running, ten minutes of a child’s school play.
Deleting a few of those frees more space than clearing hundreds of photos.
How Videos mode works
- Open the cleaning mode sheet and choose Videos.
- Sort longest first to put the biggest clips at the top, or newest or oldest first to go through them in date order.
- Each video plays inside the card. Swipe left to send it to the trash, up to keep it, or right to add it to Favorites.
Set the card corner to show file size or duration and you can see at a glance which clips are worth the most space.
Keep the moment, lose the bulk
Not every long video deserves to go. Some are the only recording of a moment you want to keep. A few options before you swipe:
- Keep the clip, and trim it in the Photos app to the part that matters.
- Keep a single still frame by taking a screenshot of the best moment.
- Keep it in Favorites so you can find it again quickly.
Get the space back
Videos you swipe left wait in the PrunePic Trash. Empty it when you are sure, then clear Recently Deleted in the Photos app if you need the storage back right away.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find the biggest videos on my iPhone?
The Photos app has no sort by size. A long video is almost always a big one, so in PrunePic choose Videos mode and sort it longest first. Each card can also show the file size in its corner.
How much space does a video take on iPhone?
It depends on the resolution and frame rate you record in. Apple's camera settings list the approximate size per minute: roughly 60 MB for 1080p at 30 fps and around 170 MB for 4K at 30 fps with the default High Efficiency format.
Will deleting a video from my iPhone delete it from iCloud?
If iCloud Photos is turned on, yes. Your library is the same on every device, so deleting a video in PrunePic removes it from iCloud too, after 30 days in Recently Deleted.
