Saudi Arabia visa photo size

The Saudi eVisa takes a square 200 × 200 px photo of 5 to 100 KB on a white background with the head filling 70–80% of the frame. Saudi passports are issued in Absher with the photo already registered with the Ministry of Interior, so adults upload no passport photo. Export the eVisa file here.

A square 200 × 200 px file of 5–100 KB with the head filling 70–80% of the frame, centred; the page also gives the head as 1.4–1.6 in from chin to crown.

Official requirements — Saudi eVisa (Unified National Visa Platform)

The eVisa upload

The Unified National Visa Platform asks for 200 × 200 px, 5 to 100 KB, with the face 70–80% of the photo and centred; the page also gives the head as 1.4–1.6 inches from chin to crown. White background, no pattern, no shadows, no more than 6 months old.

Saudi passports need no upload

Passports are issued and renewed electronically in Absher without visiting a passport office, using the photo and fingerprints already registered with the Ministry of Interior. Renewing a passport for a child under 10 requires uploading the child’s photo in Absher.

Pose and head wear

Face and eyes straight toward the camera so both ears and cheeks are clearly visible, with the head neither angled nor turned. Head wear is generally not permitted, with exceptions, especially religious, as long as the face is visible from chin to forehead. Absher ID photo rules add no eyeglasses, no expression and no cosmetics.

Figures marked partial

my.gov.sa and absher.sa block automated access, so the Absher rules come from search excerpts; the eVisa page was read directly. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes no print size for consular services, and third-party 4 × 6 cm or 2 × 2 in figures do not appear on any official page.

How to take a valid photo

The shared ICAO points first, then what this authority adds.

  • Have someone else take the photo at eye level from a few steps away; most authorities reject selfies.
  • Face the camera straight on with your head level, both eyes open, mouth closed and a neutral expression.
  • Light the face evenly: no shadows on the face or the background, no flash reflections, no red-eye.
  • Keep the photo as taken: no filters, retouching, background replacement or AI edits.
  • Only you in the frame, nothing covering the face, hair away from the eyes, no uniform.
  • Leave space around the head and shoulders so the crop can follow the guide.
  • Face and eyes straight to the camera so both ears and cheeks are clearly visible; head neither angled nor turned.
  • Head wear generally not permitted; exceptions, especially religious, with the face visible from chin to forehead.
  • Absher ID photos: no eyeglasses, no expression, no cosmetics.
