Image cropper
Crop an image online with a movable frame, fixed aspect ratios or exact crop dimensions. Rotate, flip and save a rectangular or circular crop as JPG, PNG or WebP, free with no upload.
This browser cannot write WebP. Choose JPG or PNG.
How to crop a photo
- Choose a photo and select an aspect ratio or Free.
- Move and resize the frame, then rotate or flip if needed.
- Choose the output format and download the cropped photo.
Choose a photo, pick a ratio and drag the frame or its handles. Enter the crop width and height for finer control. Rotate or flip the photo before exporting if needed.
Crop for a profile or a post
Choose 1:1 for a square avatar, 4:5 for a portrait post, 16:9 for a landscape frame or 9:16 for a vertical story. Choose Circle / oval and PNG for a transparent rounded crop; 1:1 gives a circle.
Your original stays intact
The crop becomes a new image. Original EXIF metadata is not copied. Arrow keys move the frame; hold Shift for larger steps. The width and height fields let you resize the frame without dragging.
Choose a crop that keeps the subject
A square crop works well for an avatar; a wide rectangle suits a landscape composition. Keep faces, text and other important details away from the edges if another service might crop the image again. The preset labels describe proportions, not a guarantee of any service’s current upload requirements.
Crop width and height refer to the selected area in source pixels. The preview fits the available screen, while the saved file uses the crop’s full resolution. PNG and WebP can keep transparent corners; JPG exports a rectangular image on white.

Frequently asked questions
How do I crop an image online?
Choose a photo, select Free or an aspect ratio, then drag the crop frame or its handles. Enter width and height for a precise crop region. Download cropped photo creates a new file.
How do I crop a photo into a circle?
Choose the 1:1 ratio, select Circle / oval and save as PNG. The corners become transparent. If JPG is selected, the tool switches a circular export to PNG because JPG cannot store transparency.
Which aspect ratios can I crop to?
Presets include the original ratio, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16 and 4:5. Free mode lets you choose any rectangle using the frame or pixel fields.
Can I rotate or flip a photo before cropping?
Yes. Rotate left or right in quarter turns, or flip horizontally or vertically. After a rotation the crop refits the image, so check the frame before downloading.
Can I crop with the keyboard?
Yes. Focus the crop frame and use arrow keys to move it; hold Shift for larger steps. Use the labeled width and height fields to resize without dragging.
Does cropping resize my photo?
The crop tool removes the area outside the frame and exports the selected region at its pixel dimensions. Use the image resizer afterward if you also need smaller dimensions. Originals are unchanged.
