SVG to PNG converter
Drop SVG files below, choose the width in pixels, and download sharp PNGs with the transparent background kept. The conversion runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded, and it is free with no sign-up or limit.
How to convert SVG to PNG
- Add your files. Drag SVG files onto the box above, or tap Choose files.
- Set the width. Leave it empty to use the size written in the SVG (small icons are rendered 1024 pixels wide), or type the width you need; the height follows the file's proportions.
- Download. Save each PNG with the button next to it, or tap Download all for a zip. Change the width and the files are rendered again.
Files in another format are listed with a short reason and a link to the right converter, and the rest of the batch carries on.
What is an SVG file?
SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) describes a picture as shapes, paths and text in XML rather than as pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. Logos, icons and illustrations are drawn as SVG; browsers, design tools and most modern editors read it.
Many places cannot: an app icon, a social media profile picture, a slide, an email signature, a document or an old editor wants pixels. Converting to PNG at the size you need gives you a sharp raster with the transparent background kept.
Why convert SVG to PNG?
For every place that cannot draw vectors: a profile picture, an app or favicon set, a slide, a Word document, an email signature, a marketplace listing, an older editor or printer workflow. PNG is the right raster format for this because it keeps the transparent background and the crisp edges; JPG would fill the background with white and blur the lines.
Because the PNG is rendered from the vectors at the size you ask for, a logo exported at 2048 pixels is as sharp as one at 256; there is no upscaling.
What the PNG keeps, and what it leaves out
- Kept: the drawing at the size you choose, the transparency, the colors and gradients.
- Left out: anything the SVG loads from elsewhere. Fonts that are not embedded fall back to a system font, and images or stylesheets referenced by URL are not fetched, which keeps the conversion private but can change the look of files built that way. Scripts and animations are ignored.
- Size: an SVG without a width, height or viewBox is rendered at 1024 pixels; type a width to choose.

Your files stay on your device
Your browser draws the SVG itself, the same way it displays one on a web page, and saves the pixels as a PNG in your downloads folder. No server ever receives your files, and nothing is kept once you close the page. It is the same promise we make in our iPhone app, PrunePic: it reviews your photos on the iPhone itself and never uploads them.

Frequently asked questions
Is the SVG to PNG converter free?
Yes, free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of files. It runs in your browser.
How do I choose the size of the PNG?
Type the width in pixels; the height follows the proportions of the SVG. Leave it empty to use the size written in the file, or 1024 pixels for small icons.
Does the PNG keep the transparent background?
Yes. Areas the SVG does not paint stay transparent in the PNG.
Why do the fonts look different?
Fonts the SVG refers to by name are not loaded unless they are embedded in the file or installed on your computer, so the browser substitutes one. Convert the text to outlines in your design tool first if the lettering matters.
Can I make a huge PNG?
Up to 8192 pixels wide. Very large sizes need a lot of memory; if the browser cannot render one, try a smaller width.
